Licensing Guide
Every model on 3D Animal is sold under one of three license types. Here's what each one covers.
Personal
Non-commercial use only- •3D printing for personal, non-commercial purposes
- •Personal art, hobby, and portfolio projects (not for sale or client work)
- •No use in any product, service, or project that generates revenue
- •No redistribution of the model file itself
Commercial
For paid and client work- •Everything in Personal, plus:
- •Use in commercial games, apps, animations, and VFX productions
- •Use in client work and paid projects
- •Unlimited end products built using the model
- •No redistribution or resale of the model file itself
Extended
Resale & broadcast rights- •Everything in Commercial, plus:
- •Resale rights — include the model (as part of a larger asset pack or product) in items you sell
- •Broadcast and large-audience distribution rights (TV, streaming, wide theatrical release)
- •Available on select models — check the model page for availability
Not sure which license you need?
As a rule of thumb: if money changes hands anywhere in the process — you're charging a client, selling prints, or shipping a commercial product — you need at least a Commercial license. If you want to include the model file itself as part of something you sell (an asset pack, a print-on-demand catalog), look for Extended.
